The "Flight of Angels" — named after David Livingstone's remark that the Falls were so beautiful they "must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight" — is the single best way to grasp the sheer scale of Victoria Falls. Operating from the Elephant Hills helipad just upstream of the Falls, this premier aerial sightseeing experience offers unparalleled views of the world's largest curtain of falling water. The standard 12-to-13-minute flight utilizes a specialized figure-eight flight path over the falls, ensuring passengers on both sides of the aircraft get unobstructed, panoramic views through large bubble windows. For a more comprehensive safari experience, the longer 25-minute flight extends upstream over the Zambezi River and Zambezi National Park, providing opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, hippos, and buffalo from above, before tracking the dramatic zig-zag of the Batoka Gorges downstream. Flights operate year-round, offering a dramatic perspective of the rising spray and rainbows during high-water season (February to July) and revealing the ancient geological formations of the gorge during low-water months.

Prices exclude the National Parks fee and fuel levy (each charged per person). A minimum of 2 guests is required to confirm a flight.

Good to Know

• Departure point: Elephant Hills helipad, a few kilometres upstream of the Falls. Courtesy pick-up and drop-off from Victoria Falls town centre and major hotels is included, roughly 30 minutes before the scheduled flight.
• Children: No age restriction; under-3s fly free on a parent's lap, 3+ are charged full price. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Photos/video: A professionally produced video of your specific flight is available to purchase afterwards.
• Insurance: Operators carry substantial public-liability cover (Shearwater's is underwritten by Lloyd's of London).
• Window seats: Seating is allocated by weight for balance, so request your preference at check-in rather than assuming.
