Bushtracks Express Dinner
About the Adventure
Step back in time aboard the Bushtracks Express, a fully restored 1952 steam locomotive, for a luxurious 4-hour rail safari. Departing from Victoria Falls Station, Zimbabwe, this elegant journey travels along the historic Cape-to-Cairo railway line to the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge. Guests enjoy red-carpet boarding into polished, period coaches (built in the 1930s and 1950s and restored by Rovos Rail) and an open observation deck. The train pauses on the Victoria Falls Bridge for approximately 20-30 minutes, offering spectacular golden hour views of the Zambezi River gorge and spray-misted vistas of Victoria Falls. As African dusk settles, a gourmet five-course dinner is served onboard while the train continues through the Jafuta Conservancy, an unspoiled natural wilderness area where wildlife sightings like elephants, impalas, and buffalo are possible. This premier Zimbabwe-side heritage dining experience operates year-round, typically on Tuesdays and Fridays, with an added Sunday departure during peak season (April 1 to September 30). It includes welcome drinks, pre-dinner drinks, the five-course dinner, select beverages (wines, beers, soft drinks), and return transfers from Victoria Falls or Livingstone town hotels. Smart casual attire is required. Please note, the historic carriages are not wheelchair accessible, and the experience is not advisable for children under 12 years.
